COVID-19 testing

Testing availability update

Saturday, Jan. 29: Rapid testing available from 8 a.m.-noon for all staff and students. (No PCR tests)
Monday, Jan. 31: Rapid testing available from 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. for all staff and students. (No PCR tests)

Due to the Omicron COVID-19 surge in the DFW metroplex, supplies to perform COVID-19 testing have become limited. With tests in short supply, we will have to determine what services we can offer our staff and students daily. Please monitor this webpage for up-to-date information, including which tests are available and for whom.

We are working to obtain additional tests to help with the demand. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Are you feeling sick or have been exposed to COVID-19? Our district is offering free drive-thru COVID-19 PCR testing for staff, students and families.

PCR testing (polymerase chain reaction) is great at detecting active COVID-19 cases. This type of testing:

  • is able to quickly identify infections in those that may not be having symptoms
  • has a simple process that typically takes 5 minutes or less
  • provides results within 24-48 hours  (testing during peak times may take up to 96 hours)

Getting tested

Appointments are not needed. Everyone must complete a permission form:

  • Staff and students: Answer and submit the online permission form.
  • Family members: Fill out a paper permission form at the testing site.

While the test is free, family members with insurance may have their insurance charged (but no bills will be sent).

Please note that the beginning and end of the day may be busier. You may visit on a lunch break, conference period, or anytime with supervisor permission to avoid traffic.
